AirTouch, Future Technology BMW i8 Spyder





BMW is known as one of the luxury car manufacturer of the most advanced in terms of technology. Most recently, the German manufacturer is rumored to be releasing a new technology called AirTouch at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, United States (US), January.

technology that will be pinned on the BMW i8 Spyder allows multiple features in a vehicle can be operated through the motions.




"This feature empowers entertainment control, navigation and communication features using simple motions with his hands," said BMW in its official release. According to them, this technology is made so that the rider stay focused look at the road.

AirTouch using a sensor that is placed just above the dashboard. These sensors will monitor the movement of the hands of the driver or passenger.

This technology not only allows the rider to do three commands above, but also control more complex. Thus, this technology is more advanced than Gesture Control that they release this year.

To note, Gesture Control has been invested in the 7-Series luxury sedan they were released this year. With this technology, the driver can perform commands by simply moving your hand in front of the screen.

AirTouch is also equipped with a button located on the left bank of the steering wheel and within easy reach of the thumb. This button is used to change the setting or activate the desired program. AirTouch button is also located on the passenger door
